The law firm of Cattie & Gonzalez (the “Firm”) is growing, and we need experienced help handling all the work coming in the door at the high level of quality our clients deserve and receive from us.
We are seeking a Director of Operations – Mass Torts to oversee the growth of our Mass Torts Practice Area.
Candidates who are well-suited for this opportunity will have several years’ experience in the mass torts lien resolution and government benefit preservation world. Candidates will work closely with Attys. John Cattie and Rafael Gonzalez as well as others at the Firm to deliver superior service and results to our valued clients. Candidates may work remotely and on their own daily schedule, with the expectation that all work will be completed timely, professionally, and to the highest level of quality.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
• Training, development, and management of the Mass Tort Practice Area;
• Serving as primary point of contact for Mass Tort conversations within the Firm;
• Tracking development of Mass Tort opportunities;
• Develop and deliver constantly superior client experiences for Mass Tort clients;
• Leverage the Firm’s lienholder relationships to create efficient lien resolution solutions resulting in maximum lien reductions and maximum net proceeds for Mass Tort victims;
• Meeting with clients on a regular basis to answer questions, present status updates and drive client-oriented solutions;
• Planning, propelling, and executing Firm Mass Tort initiatives; &
• Ensuring the client’s experience with Mass Tort lien resolution and government benefits preservation exceeds prior experiences with industry alternatives.
Qualification Criteria:
• Refined leadership skills in handling complex problems and delivering quality results to internal and external clients;
• Polished communication skills (oral and written) to speak to internal and external clients of varying levels of sophistication;
• Critical thinking, both independently and in a group setting, to identify, analyze, and solve complicated questions;
• Congenial disposition which enhances the Firm’s positive culture; &
• Mass Tort operations experience of at least 3 years.

We have a unique opportunity to join our team as an Associate Attorney. This person will be asked to assume leadership over our Medicaid lien resolution practice area on a full-time basis. Significant client interaction and case responsibility from Day 1 with oversight from the firm’s partners.
Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Attorney to attorney consultations on Medicaid lien resolution issues
• Evaluate case specific facts to determine best path forward for maximum lien reduction
• Negotiate lien reductions with state Medicaid agencies and lienholders
• Assess chances of success in pursuing judicial relief via Ahlborn hearing
• Draft and file complaints for judicial determinations of Medicaid recovery rights
• Appear and advocate zealously in court for our client’s best interest
• Protecting a claimant’s future Medicaid eligibility post-settlement
• Drafting Special Needs Trusts (SNTs) and creating ABLE accounts
• Tracking Medicaid compliance developments on a federal and state level
• Creating written content (i.e. articles and blog posts) about Medicaid compliance

Qualifications: Potential candidates will possess:
• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Current license to practice law (or planning to sit for Summer 2022 bar exam)
• Excellent communication, speaking, and writing skills

The daily responsibilities of the MSP Analyst may include but not be limited to:
Candidates who are well-suited for this opportunity will have experience with reviewing medical records and bills as well as prior experience handling Medicare conditional payments and/or WCMSAs. Candidates will work closely with Attys. John Cattie and Rafael Gonzalez as well as others at the Firm to deliver superior client service to our valued clients. Candidates may work remotely and on their own daily schedule, with the expectation that all work product and assignments will be completed in a timely manner, professionally, and to the highest level of quality.
